Konrad Thọ Fiedler is a new filmmaker currently developing a feature film adaptation of the novel Dakota by Gwen Florio. Running Eagle is his first short film as a director. He is an American Film Institute Conservatory trained cinematographer and a Pulitzer-Prize nominated photojournalist.
The film stars Devery Jacobs who has appeared in the films The Sun at Midnight and, South of the Moon, the television series of Stephen King’s Dead Zone, Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, and Being Human. She was the lead in the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls, which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Actor Heath McGough’s credits include guest appearances on TV shows such as Criminal Minds, Friday Night Lights, The Last Ship, Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, and Nickelodeon’s Game Shakers. You will soon see him on the big screen in the upcoming movie Please Stand By alongside star Dakota Fanning. The film features a song by the Crazy Dogs, a legendary Blackfeet warrior society, who served as cultural advisors and buffalo caretakers. Casting coordinator and cultural consultant Lily Gladstone is a member of the Blackfeet tribe and actress on the new Kelly Reichardt film Certain Women, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Actor and cultural advisor Craig L. Falcon is also a member of the Blackfeet Nation and was the Native American consultant on The Revenant before his on-screen debut in Running Eagle.
The talented crew includes cinematographer Benjamin Kitchens, whose recent work includes the music video for the Grammy nominatedSam Smith song, “I’m Not The Only One”. In 2015, the short, Myrna the Monster, he shot was nominated for the Grand Jury Award at Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival. Sound editor and mixer Michael J. McDonald is a Hollywood veteran and his filmography includes hundreds of television and film projects for Disney, NBC, PBS, HBO, Fox and Dick Clark, as well as for many singing legends. Colorist Ricky Gausis’ work includes some of today’s most talked about commercials and Grammy nominated music videos: Beats by Dre “The Game Starts Here” campaign, Taylor Swift’s “Style” music video, and DJ Snake’s “Turn Down For What” music video. He also graded the Hiro-Murai-directed pilot for Atlanta, a comedy series premiering on FX this year.
