Veteran Hollywood actor Robert De Niro while introducing the movie ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ at the Gotham Awards went off script while reading from the teleprompter and refused to thank Apple and Gotham Awards as he found out that a part of his speech had been omitted.
The Oscar winner had called out former President Donald Trump by saying that: “He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature, and shows disrespect, for example, by using ‘Pocahontas’ as a slur.”
During his speech when De Niro realised parts of his speech had been omitted he continued by saying, “Filmmakers, on the other hand, describe…Oh, I just realised they edited all that. I’m going to thank Apple, Gotham’s, Apple, blah blah blah. But I don’t feel like thanking them at all after what they did. How dare they, actually?”
Deniro also went on to say that, “The beginning of my speech was edited, cut out… and I want to read it. History isn’t history any more. Truth is not truth… Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan’s arsenal.”
