TE3N: Nawazuddin Siddiqui Learns Bengali From Amitabh And Vidya Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will shortly be appearing onscreen alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan in TE3N, an emotional thriller set against the backdrop of Kolkata. The acclaimed actor apparently learned Bengali from none other than Mr. Bachchan himself. Vidya Balan and Mr. Bachchan are fluent in the language while producer Sujoy Ghosh and director Ribhu Dasgupta are themselves Bengali. Nawazuddin was a novice but picked up the language effortlessly thanks to his onset tutors, to the point that he can now unwittingly hold a fluent conversation.

A crew member describes, “Sujoyda, Ribhu, Mr. Bachchan and Vidya, who feel quite at home in Kolkata, would often slip into Bengali phrases in their conversations, so even Nawaz by the end of the shoot understood most of it and could speak quite well, helped by the actors.”
