On his instagram, Sylvester Stallone remembers the time he nearly hired Smokin’ Joe Fraser.

Stallone stated: “Very rare behind-the-scenes flashback. Before I hired Mr. T I auditioned Smokin’ Joe Fraser for the part. After about 30 seconds in the ring I had five stitches. So I decided on Mr. T who was perfect for the part and didn’t punch quite as hard!!!“
