Just three days after the premiere of Babylon on 23rd December 2023, starring Margot Robbie in the lead, the film has failed at the box office. The film earned only $3.5 million over the opening weekend. The industry experts predict that the film will further bring in $5.3 million which is a big disappointment. The movie had a budget of $79 million and has a 3 hours long duration. Babylon has proved to be the second box office flop for Margot in her career, the first one was the period comedy thriller, Amsterdam.

The movie is set in an era in which profanity, nudity, drug use, sexual perversion and inter-racial relationships were openly shown on the big screen, until the Hays Code was introduced in 1930 which put a stop to it all. It is also a tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, that traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

Margot Robbie has earned a reputation of delivering box office gold films since she made her debut in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013.
Although Margot has experienced a bit of disappointment in her career recently, we wish her the best and pray that she brings in more box office gold films in the future.
