VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS Trailer Review

Directed by Luc Besson, well known for directing The Fifth Element and Lucy, this would be his latest venture into the world of fantasy life in space. In the lead would be the supermodel Cara Delevigne opposite Dane Dehaan who would be playing Laureline and Velerian respectively. Other actors starring in the film are Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Clive Owen and Hip Hop singer Rihanna.

The trailer is quite exciting, and has the elements of The Fifth Element in it as it is another one of the intergalactic adventure films out there. The film originates from a French graphic novel Valerian and Laureline. It had always been a wish for Luc Besson to bring it on the big screen to the wider audience so that they could get accustomed to the comic which is only known in France. The film follows two comic books from the series of the graphic novel, the first one being “Bad Dreams“, in which Valerian teams up with Laureline, and second one being “Empire of a Thousand Planets“, the story of which will be followed in the movie.

These kind of movies are fun to watch on the big screen. Some of the scenes in the trailer make you feel like you are playing a Playstation/XBox game. It would be full of fun, action and of course aliens of different sorts. It is almost a mash up of Jack Carter and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The performances look quite good in the trailer and let’s see how the movie itself fairs up business wise. At the moment the film’s popularity is down according to IMDB, but it will gain its fame. Cara Delevingne’s fans would give it a push up to the good side. The movie will have its Worldwide release on 21st July, 2017, while in France it will come out on 26th july, 2017.
