BEFIKRE Trailer Review. Aditya Chopra‘s upcoming film BEFIKRE Is A Usual Bollywood Rom Com Movie Shot entirely in Paris. It’s trailer was released on 10th October 2016 under the famous landmark of love, the Eiffel Tower. Starring Ranveer Singh opposite Vaani Kapoor and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, this film mainly focuses on love. The posters of the movie that have been circulating since the last few months say it all, which shows the couple kissing, and kissing and kissing!!!
Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor play the roles of Dharam and Shyra respectively in the movie, who go on a dare to love adventure in the city of love, Paris. Ranveer Singh is a well known name in Bollywood with movies like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Kill Dil and Bajirao Mastani among others, while Vaani Kapoor is lesser known with only three movies in her resume including Shuddh Desi Romance opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and a Tamil film Aaha Kalyanam with Befikre being the latest one. This movie looks like a promising step forward for her and can catapult her career as an actress. Both Ranveer and Vaani’s performances look a bit above mediocre, but as it is a comedy movie, it can be well understood that they had to act in a carefree way. The songs are composed by Vishal and Shekar, a music directing duo, who have made the music more for dance and enjoyment. A more mushy, love dovey, emotional song might be in there too, but we don’t know yet until the movie itself comes out and we go see it.
The movie’s been shot in 50 days with locations being the all familiar ones including the Sacre Coeur from where a full panoramic view can be taken of Paris including the rooftops (which I personally love looking at), River Seine (I think all the boat scenes are done there because there is no other river in Paris!!), Notre Damme (Where Vaani dares Ranveer to slap the police officer in order to go on a date with her), Latin Quarter (some filming might have been done there, including the songs), Louvre Museum (It’s just outside in the front of the museum where Ranveer is seen riding his bike in a semicircle) and a few of the iconic bridges including the world known Eiffel Tower (well, of course, without it there is no Paris).
The movie is releasing on 9th December, 2016. So, I think it should be watched for entertainment purposes. No idea how it will do on the Box Office in India, but people in Europe, France of course would love it. Thumbs up and fingers crossed!
