Kosovan Director More Raca’s ‘HOME’ Puts A Spotlight On Laws For Women In Modern Kosovo. The director herself is engaged in the protection of women’s rights and well being of the minorities in her country. In ‘Home‘, she has brought forward an issue of laws concerning women whose fathers have died before getting them married. Left in the hands of a society which is less accepting of a fatherless woman, the laws concerning them is very harsh. Although the short film is based on a true story of one woman but in fact, there are many who go through the same ordeal.

‘HOME’: MORE RACA’S FILM TO PREMIERE IN RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL.
The short film is a perfect example of how man has adapted and corrupted the God given laws concerning women, their rights to inheritance, and the rights of a woman’s relatives over her. It is also a symbol of man’s greed and how he very ruthlessly throws a blind eye over the rights of women. On the contrary, it shows the strength of a woman who endures it all even though she feels that she’s been left alone to tackle the problems in a society where there is very little help for her. The woman is shown as a fighter and a survivor who fights and finds her way through to freedom.
Hava (Xhejlane Tërbunja), is a regular young woman with a stable job. Her fate changes when her father dies leaving her in her elder brother Qazim’s (Sunaj Raça) hands. Having no right to inheritance, tradition says that she must be married off. Hava realises that fighting the tradition is her only way out.
Directed and Written by More Raca, ‘Home‘ would have its premiere in the 24th Raindance Film Festival 2016 in London. Shot entirely in Pristina, actors Xhejlane Tërbunja and Sunaj Raça have each done a superb job in bringing to life the characters of Hava and Qazim through their near to perfection performances.
