British Film Institute: Kirk Douglas is being given tribute on his 100th birthday by showing some of his most notable works till date. The tribute at the prestigious BFI will run from September 3rd till October 4th, 2016. The films would include his screen debut The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers (1946), followed with more successful films including 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954), Paths of Glory (1957), Spartacus (1960) and among many others.

Kirk Douglas has played numerous larger than life characters in films which gained international success. Growing up in an impoverished and an immigrant family, Kirk learned to work hard, which put in him the determination to succeed. Films were an escape for him, and he successfully gained himself his screen debut in The Strange Love Of Martha Ivers. Following his screen debut, he went on to act in more powerful characters giving his finest performances and great cinematic hits. This tribute is something not to be missed by cinema lovers and most importantly Kirk Douglas fans.
