‘That 70s Show‘ actor and Scientologist Danny Masterson has been sentenced to 30 years to life imprisonment on the charges of raping two women. Fellow cast members and married couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency with Ashton calling him his ‘role model’ and Mila also calling him ‘an outstanding role model and friend.’ Their letters were publicised which caused them to film an apology video which the couple released on Ashton’s instagram account.
“We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,” said Ashton, while Mila added: “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.”
The apology video did not sit will with the victims and they were outraged. Journalist Yashar Ali shared on X the reaction of the two women who stated: “this video was incredibly insulting and hurtful. My hope is that they learn radical accountability and the importance of self-education to learn when to keep their privelege in check — especially Ashton, who claims to work with victims of sex crimes. And as to Mila, I can only think of “Times Up.”

Prior to the victims reaching out to Journalist Yashar Ali, he had stated on his X account that the video had ‘heavily lawyered language’ and ‘contained a great deal of scientological phrasing…intended to undermine the victims who were drugged by Danny.’

The women testified that they were offered drinks which intoxicated them after which Danny raped them. The use of drugs on his victims played a prominent role in the case.
