Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two has been delayed. The movie’s release date has been moved from 3rd November, 2023 to 15th March, 2024. The reason for the delay is the ongoing Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes taking place in the American Film Industry. Due to this, the movie has also been taken out of the 2023 Oscar race.
Dune: Part Two was filmed entirely in IMAX certified digital cameras and the delay will enable Denis to re-edit the movie as the recent rough cuts have been rumoured to be over three hours.
Dune is an adaptation of the novel of the same title written by Frank Herbert and published in 1965
